Vertical Trailers

Available in two ranges – the VR (vertical regular) and the WAV (wide angled vertical), all machines work on the same principal.

A conical auger with blades set at regular intervals from the bottom, wide part to the top point of the auger. The serrated blades are aggressive for easy chopping of materials. Movable contra knives in the tub allow material to be held for better chopping. The auger is driven by a 90o gearbox with an oil reservoir and a greasable top bearing. There are no chains in the drive system.

Discharge of the mix is through a 900mm x 900mm flush fitting door. The usual position for this door is at the front of the tub in the middle, although there are also rear or side discharge options. Front and rear discharge feed onto a cross conveyor which can feed to the left or right. There is an option to have a folding elevator on one side to enable feeding over a higher barrier or into a trough. All elevators have rubber cleated belts, which are clean and quiet. Rollers and self aligning bearings with normal or high speed motors enable the mix to be fed evenly into the right place.

If you feed straight onto the floor, you can choose the side door option, eliminating the need for a discharge conveyor.

There is also a new option on the cross elevator which enables feeding to both sides in the same run – ideal for narrow buildings.

NEW LARGER MACHINES
RMH is now producing twin and triple vertical auger mixers. Available up to 45 cubic metres, these machines allow big tonnages to be mixed.

Centrally placed axles mean that this machine can still be easily manoeuvred. With up to 48 knives on the larger machines, these mixers can chop large quantities of any ingredient.

WAV and VR models

The choice of mixer will depend on:

• Size of mix required
• Do you want to feed once or twice a day?
• How many animals are being fed in each group?
• Constraints of any farm buildings and troughs
• The VR range is only 7'6” wide, so is ideal for narrow passageways
• The WAV range is wider but lower, so good if there is a height constraint
